    Sounds like you’ve got site wiring issues. Either that or the switch port has been locked at 10 mbps / half duplex. If you are using Cisco switches, make SURE that the switch ports are also set to Auto! Cisco gear doesn’t play well if one end is set to Auto and the other end is manually set.

    If your site wiring isn’t strictly up to the 568B standard, you WILL have connectivity issues! Excessive run lengths, split pairs, excess un-twist, etc. will all cause your systems to fail to link up when set to Auto.
